All At Sea Fanzine is a fanzine dedicated to the mighty Southend United. A club that has recently been taken over by a consortium after its former chairman saddled it with eyewatering amount of debt. A “sleeping giant” in the murky depths of the National League, after over 100 years of league football. A club that refuses to die. A club that has witnessed the talents of Stan Collymore, Chris Powell, Freddy Eastwood, Billy Best and many many more. A club that looks after its former footballers – SUEPA, the former players association, has over 500 ex-players in its membership. A club that, in its earlier history, had the largest fan’s club in the country. A club, that, when we needed Roots Hall rebuilt in the 1950s, got the fans together to build it.
The fanzine is the epitome of Southend United’s never say die spirit. A testament to sheer bloodymindness and with added humour and criticism. A glimpse into the ennui of its weary, non-TikTok using editors and contributors. More than that, it’s a bloody good read. It’s the Spread Eagle, the Railway and the Blue Boar in print. And it’s still only a quid.
On matchdays the zine is just £1. UK subscriptions cost £12 and last for 8 issues (price includes postage). Subscriptions to Shrimpers outside the UK is possible – email us at allatsea@hotmail.com for more details.
Where to get the fanzine?
We’re on sale next to the ticket offices on Victoria Avenue and Shakespeare drive from 2pm on matchdays (when we specify we have an issue out). Before (and usually after) the game we can be found in The Railway and copies are also available to those travelling to away games with Blues On Tour.
